Happy St. Patty’s Day and may the luck o’ the Irish be with you today! Last weekend was packed with fun filled activities and it looks like things might be slowing down a bit, but there are still some great events coming up.

The first event I want to address (pun intended) is the NEW K-Town Gown Town!

What is K-Town Gown Town someone might ask? It is a brand new event intended to motivate people to clean out their closets and donate gently used items to other people that might need them. We are accepting donations of gowns, dresses, purses, jewelry, shoes and items related with fancy occasions. If you donate something, you can get a coupon to shop the day of the event if you would like. If you prefer not to, we can give you a receipt for the donations. Donations are being accepted at the Chamber, M- F from 9 am – 4 pm. If you would like to call ahead, our number is 970-724-3472.

It is also an event for girls and women of all ages to come shopping on April 2nd at the Chamber from 9 am – 4 pm. We will have donated items marked at affordable prices for purchase. Every girl wants a new dress for each dance, but sometimes a new dress, shoes, purse, and jewelry can break the bank. The Chamber is trying to make things just a little more affordable for Grand County. Proceeds will benefit The Pregnancy Resource Connection.

Being that Gown Town is a brand new event, we are still learning as we go and any suggestions are helpful. I wanted to give a shout out to all of the ladies that have already made donations and to Last Time ‘Round Thrift Shop for donating any “prom” related items that they receive.

To complete the prom ensemble, guys can go to Flowers by Marcia to rent tuxedos and purchase corsages and boutonnieres. Sorry, there are no limo services that I know of at this time in Grand County! Prom is April 30th for anybody that was wondering, so if you still need to buy a couple things after K-Town Gown Town, you have plenty of weekends to shop.
