Get ready! Middle Park Fair and Rodeo is just around the corner. Three weeks from tomorrow, Tuesday, August 8, is registration for the Exhibit Hall. You have just enough time to finish some of those projects, get those photos printed, sorted, and backed, check the garden for flowers almost ready to be cut and displayed, choose your favorite recipe to be made. Fair books are out, in several businesses around town or at the Extension Hall. Pick one up and peruse the many categories, maybe this year there is a new one that you’ve never thought about previously.

Registration runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is always better to come earlier in the day, so that there is not such a rush at 8 p.m. Registration cards can be picked up in the Extension Hall early. Just remember that one card, has two sides, left and right. Both sides are filled out with the same information, for one item. Do not separate the left and right sides and do not tear off the top sheet, please.

The Fair volunteers will help with the next step, or if you have questions about which category. There is a fee of 50 cents per item.

Our special display this year is old quilts. Someone asked if they had to be made here in the county. The answer is no. If you have a quilt made in the 1960s or earlier or if it has special county significance, contact

Sheilah Jones at 724-9068 or Twila O’Hotto at 724-3302. See you at the Fair!
