Louis Joseph Manguso July 14th, 1928-August 1st, 2017

Louis Joseph Manguso was born in Denver, Colorado on July 14th, 1928, he passed away August 1st, 2017 in Kremmling, Colorado surrounded by his family. His parents were Joseph and Petrina (Marino) Manguso. Louis was the oldest of his four siblings. Louis grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Great Falls Montana where he met and married his high school sweetheart Celestine (Sally) Korst. Louis and Sally began their marriage in Great Falls, Montana and eventually settled in Colorado after Louis served in WWII and the Korean war as a Naval radioman.

Louis and Sally’s love of the Mountains and open spaces from their childhood and early marriage had them longing to leave the busy pace of Denver. They moved from Denver to their home outside of Parshall,
CO in 1982 where they lived until their death’s. Louis served as the head of maintenance and assisted his
wife Sally in managing the Silver Spruce Senior apartments in Kremmling, Colorado. Louis enjoyed the comradery and active lifestyle until his retirement.

Family, gardening, hunting, and fishing were the important aspects of Louis’s life. He helped raise his grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was an avid horse lover and enjoyed passing this passion
along to his grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by his wife Celestine (Sally) Manguso of 70 years, his parents Joseph and Petrina Manguso. He is survived by his siblings Loretta Korst, Alfred Manguso, Joseph Manguso, and Patti Smith; sons Donald (Cheryl) Manguso, Mike (Victoria) Manguso; as well as eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

There was a vigil on Wednesday August 2nd, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Grand County Mortuary. There will be a Mass held on August 5th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Kremmling with a reception to follow.
