KREMMLING, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments on an application for a special recreation permit for a stand-up paddle board race on June 5 on the Colorado River at Rancho Del Rio.

The race, conducted by Gore Range Expeditions, LLC dba Stand Up Paddle Colorado, would be a part of the Campout for the Cause Music Festival taking place June 3-5 on private land at Rancho Del Rio. Up to 100 participants may compete in two events on Sunday, June 5. The short course race would start and finish at Rancho Del Rio and include two laps paddling upstream and back down around the islands adjacent Rancho Del Rio. The long course race would start at Rancho Del Rio and head downstream using the small craft ramp for takeout at State Bridge. Buoys would be temporarily placed in the river as course markers.

To provide comment on the application, contact Maribeth Pecotte at the BLM Kremmling Field Office at mpecotte@blm.gov or 970-724-3027. Comments need to be received by May 25, 2016.

The BLM issues commercial SRPs to provide recreation businesses the opportunity to operate on BLM lands, to implement recreation management decisions and to ensure a fair return to the public for commercial use of public lands.

Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment—including your personal identifying information—may be made publicly available at any time. While you can request in your comment to withhold personal identifying information from public review, the BLM cannot guarantee the ability to do so.
