The Granby Chamber of Commerce erected a pallet tree for their annual tree lighting at their new location at the lot this Friday, November 16. The annual tree lighting will feature free carriage rides along with traditional holiday fun with caroling and visits with Santa.

Building the pallet tree was definitely a community effort.

According to Granby Chamber Director, Jessica Blair, “Many people from all over the county came together to deliver their unused pallets to us for the project. The total project requires approximately 570 pallets total.”

The formal plan was designed by The Carter Group. Alpine Lumber donated all of the building materials and sent their employees to help build it. Troy Neiberger of Big Valley Construction helped to organize local builders and construction crews including those from Esco.

Blair also gave a shout-out to Tracy Navarrete, of Westside 40 and the leader of the Granby’s local art coalition, saying, “She’s amazing! She was instrumental in gathering volunteers to help on a daily basis.”

An added bonus of having a tree built from pallets is that it will be used later in January for a community bonfire.
