The Redneck Mudshuffle went off last Saturday and the action was fast and glorious. The track was fast this year and it added to the action and the mudslinging fun.
There was a good turnout for the event and we would like to first thank all of the spectators who showed up and cheered for the racers. We hope you had a great time.
Thank you to the nearly 40 racers that traveled from all over Colorado and from Wyoming to provide a spectacular show.
There are many people that the Middle Park Fairboard would like to thank for their involvement. Grand County Commissioners Kris Manguso, Merrit Linke and James Newberry and Grand County Manager Lurline Underbrink Curran. Your support of the Middle Park Fair and Rodeo and the fairgrounds facility is the foundation that makes this all possible. Your help at the gate is also extremely helpful.
Race Directors Joe and Kittie Docheff did an absolutely fantastic job of working with the drivers, running a clean and safe event, conducting the Red Neck Lucky Shuffle and the Candy Shuffle and helping with the overall planning for the Shuffle. The racers in this event are very loyal and Joe and Kittie are the major reason for that loyalty. Plus, they do it entirely as volunteers. They also have an army of family and friends that help them – Alex Zolnir, Misty Overholt; JD Docheff; Chris Overholt; Curtis Docheff, Kyndra Gore, Dakota Docheff, Erick Gore Jr., Adah Gore, Eric Gore Sr. and Justin Halley. Thank each and every one of you for your help.
Grand County Road and Bridge constructed the pit and then maintained it during the race. The crew did a fantastic job and helped build a wonderful venue.
Thank you to Justin Villegas, Scott Howell, Matt Willie and Jason Schroer for your help and expertise.
Pat Pryor, Fairgrounds Manager did a great job of making sure the venue was ready and we had everything we needed.
Thank you Travis Hoesli, Caroline Smith and Caitlyn Taussig. Caitlyn also started the event with her usual excellent performance of the Star Spangled Banner. Bert Multerer did a fantastic job of announcing the event and Jim Miller and Samantha Miller with Blue Life Ltd, kept all of the times recorded, organized and readily available for the announcer and the race directors.
From the Office of Economic Development, DiAnn Butler and Hannah Cox helped to keep things running smoothly on Saturday. The Kremmling Chamber of Commerce sponsored the beer garden and the Kremmling Rotary Club provided the food concessions.
Thank you to both groups for helping to provide a more complete event experience. Middle Park Fair and Rodeo Princess Erica Weimer did a fantastic job of gathering door prizes and then raffling them off at the event.
The door prize raffle raised over $250, thanks to the generosity of the door prize sponsors and the many spectators that purchased raffle tickets. She was assisted at the door prize table by Meghan Cameron and with the clean up after the event by several of her family members.
Finally, and certainly not least, we would like to thank all of the sponsors, without which there truly would be no event. Thank you for your community support and your generosity. Event sponsors were: Parts City Auto; Northwest Ranch Supply; TVD Designs; Carquest Auto in Granby; T & C Concrete; The Well Liquor Store; ReMax Red in Kremmling; Roger Scott; Grand Fence; the Middle Park Fairboard; Grand County Board of County Commissioners and the Middle Park Fair and Rodeo Royalty.
The Door Prize sponsors were: Grand Hair Design, Allington Inn and Suites; Northwest Ranch Supply; Bank of the West; Ghostwood Interiors; Flowers by Marcia; Red Mountain RV Park, Alpha Woman Creations; Michael’s Audio, Radio Shack, Old Time Feed N’ Things; Granby Bait and Tackle; Mountain Moon Yoga; Bella Vita Mountain Spa; Winter Park Optical; Sagebrush BBQ & Grill; Beacon Landing Marina; Kopy Kat; Power World; Stand Firm CrossFit; Wells Fargo Bank; Brothers Custom Processing; Full Circle Cyclery; Shear Design and TVD Designs.
Race Results – The race results were determined by combining the times of the two runs and ranking the racers from fastest to slowest. That list was then divided into four equal brackets and the top three in each bracket were awarded prize money and a trophy.
Those winners, in order of finish for each bracket were: 1st Time Bracket – Jose Munoz, Willie Mast, Ron Smith;
2nd Time Bracket – Jake Manning, Scott Howell, Tim Monahan; 3rd Time Bracket – Jayme McGraw, Jared Meyer, Will Elliott; 4th Time Bracket – Chase Farser, Taylor Tanton, Adam Tanton.
All of the people above made for a memorable Saturday afternoon during Kremmling Days.
Thank you all, so very much. – Middle Park F
