West Grand athletics partners with Grand Adventure Brewery to host a three-part race series, which kicks off Saturday, June 16, at 9:45 a.m.. “We’re basically the start of the Kremmling Days parade,” Coach Ryan Tripicchio explains.

A veteran of over 14 marathons (including the Boston and Chicago races), Tripicchio shares his passion for running in the area: “We have a breathtaking landscape and so many trails. I’d like to expand the series further.” The series consists of the Mustang Mile, the Red Mountain Dash, and the Middle Park Fair 5K. Sign-up for the Mustang Mile takes place at West Grand High just before the event, and registration fees are $30. The Red Mountain Dash begins at Doc Ceriani Park at 10am on July 14. “This is a kind of choose-your-own-adventure race,” Tripicchio says. “Participants can either run on the designated trail or along the side for a faster route.” Fees for both the Red Mountain Dash and the Middle Park Fair 5K, also commencing at Doc Ceriani Park on August 4th at 4pm, begin at $35 until two weeks prior to the event and then increases to $45 for late registrants. All proceeds benefit West Grand athletics.

All race-series participants will receive t-shirts, and participants of age are also awarded a free pint after each race at the Grand Adventure Brewery if they show their bib from the race. In addition, a race purse will be awarded to the best overall times for both male and female runners. Everyone is welcome to join in. Tripicchio advises beginners “Make sure to take your time and remember to enjoy it.”
