Stephanie Ralph has been with the Grand County Library District for 16 years, serving in positions of increasing responsibility before becoming the Executive Director in 2014. Funding concerns have been a constant theme throughout her tenure as Executive Director.

Together with her library staff and Board, Ralph worked to pass a mill levy proposal to increase library funding in 2016. Under her leadership, the District has increased local donations, is working closely with the Friends group in fundraising efforts, and is revitalizing the Grand County Library Foundation.

The District is also working to place libraries at the heart of the local community, and new library initiatives have provided opportunities for enrichment and education for local citizens.

Grand County continues to attract readers into the library branches in increasing numbers to check out actual books, DVDs and magazines. This is counter to national library trends which shows movement away from physical books.

Attendance at Library programs as also showing a trend towards greater participation. Ralph is an active member of the Granby Rotary and participates in fundraising efforts for local and international non-profits Ralph is also a 2018 SDA Leadership Academy Fellow. The James T. Walker Leadership Scholarship is presented in honor of SDA Founding Board Member James T. Walker to an SDA member who demonstrates the Association’s high standard of leadership.
