Last Thursday, the Mustangs took on the Gilpin County Eagles, in a fantastic game filled with excitement and intensity. During the first quarter, the Mustangs were in a two point lead with the score being 10-8. Energy ran through the Mustangs during the second quarter as they earned themselves another 15 points. The end score for the quarter was 27-16. The game slowed down a bit during the third quarter with the Mustangs only gaining eight points. Although they did have a lagging moment, the Mustangs continued to keep the lead with 35-23. At the last quarter of the game, the Mustangs worked very hard. It was a very extraordinary period and another 15 points were gained, while the Eagles gained 18. The final Score was 41-50, giving the Mustangs a proudful win. Senior, Austin Stauffer had 22 points, 13 rebounds – five being offensive). Sophomore, Alejandro Castanon had eight points, had three steals, and made two 3’s. Freshmen, Jesus Dominguez had five points, four steals. Sophomore, Charlie Multerer had six points, six rebounds, and one blocked shot.

This week the Mustangs will play against the Tigers @Summit, and will face Vail Mountain on Thursday, December 13 @ home, for the Mustangs first league game!
