Dave Abbottt was awarded the 2018 Middle Park Conservationist award posthumously at the annual MPCD Annual Dinner on March 10 at the Snow Mountain Ranch. Dave’s wife, Nancy Abbott, was there to accept a plaque in Dave’s honor. Dave was devoted conservationist who served on the Board of Supervisors for the Middle Park Conservation District from 1985 until his passing in August 2017. Dave not only encouraged conservation at the local level, he also advocated for action at the regional, state, and national levels as well. During his tenure with Conservation District, Dave dutifully served in various leadership positions within the District, Colorado River Watershed Association, and Colorado Association of Conservation Districts.
