8058 Peak Volleyball Club started in the fall of 2022 and includes five teams with athletes from both East Grand and West Grand School Districts. Starting from scratch, sponsors are an essential part of the club’s successful launch. Middle Park Health signed up as the main sponsor. “It is important to us to encourage whole person wellness, active and healthy lifestyles. Being a part of a team offers this and a sense of community and belonging, which is important for athletes of all ages. We are proud of the teams’ growth and successes in their first season,” said Tiffany Frietag, director of business development.
The teams compete in Power Tournaments every other week. The U16 travel team won first in the division at the three of their four tournaments. The U14 team placed first at the Power 4 tournament. And the U13 team has placed second at two of their tournaments so far.
In February, 8058 Peak Volleyball Club traveled with three teams to compete in the Greeley Showdown Volleyball Tournament. The U13, U14, and U16 teams competed over 3 days in a tournament that included over 330 teams total from across Colorado and Wyoming.
By the end of the season, the club’s three travel teams will have competed in 9 tournaments, as well as participated in up to 6 hrs of practices a week for this 5 month club season. The development players have spent extensive hours in the gym in a small 5:1 ratio with players to coaches, meaning they’ve been able to build both their technical skills and their interpersonal skills as individual players as well as teammates.
8058 Peak Volleyball Club’s president, Jennifer Bauckman explains, “The athletes have developed strong volleyball skills that have prepared them to further their competitiveness in both future school and club teams. They have gained a sense of self-determination and credibility that not only makes them strong volleyball players but also self-motivated, successful individuals.”
