Williams Fork Fishing Report

Fishing at the Williams Fork Reservoir is reported to be pretty slow at the moment. Most reported catches are lake trout in the 18-20 inch range. Most of those are returned to the water to get a bit larger. The pike fishing has yet to pick up after the earlier spawn. The fish can be seen but don’t seem to be interested in eating. Last week an interesting show occurred for anyone in the right place at the right time. Thousands of tiny fish, probably a bunch of the kokanee salmon placed in the waters in May surrounded the dock just as the sun went down. As they feasted on the zooplankton there, the light caught their silver skin, creating flashes in the waters. The fish appeared to be less than an inch in length.
