On Sunday February 25, Limitless played in the Power 3 club volleyball tournament at Palmer Ridge High School in Monument. The girls had a pretty successful day as they came out of their pool in first and finished third in a tournament of nine teams. In their first match of the day, Limitless would go up against Flatirons from Superior. In a close first set, the team would win 28-26 and follow up with a 25-21 finish. Playing back to back, the girls would hit the floor against Set Spike Sports out of Thornton. Early in the set the lead would change often with Limitless then gaining control to win 25-19. The second set would see the girls coming up short 19-25. In the final set, Limitless would find themselves behind at one point 7-11 then 9-13 and battled back to win 15- 13. “This was a great mental win! The girls didn’t play in panic mode, kept their cool and did what they needed too,” said Coach Kim Bodemann. Cirenda Cordova was 100% from the serving line, Josy Wheatley only missed one on the day. Audree Miller and Sage Lechman finished two different sets off with multiple serves in a row for wins. With this win, the team came out first in their pool. Next, would be a pool of three with all the pool winners.

The first match of the finals was against Team Pueblo. Limitless had a hard time getting themselves going and lost 6-25 but played a much tougher game in the next set but fell 22-25. In their next match, they would play the team from Englewood, 303. In what was a fairly even set, minus a few extra mistakes, the girls came up short 20-25 but in the last set, played tired and lost 13-25. Limitless would finish in third place. The girls started reacting more instead of over thinking their next action. They also played a lot scrappier. It’s fun to see their growth each and every game, added Bodemann. Coach also said, Alex Schake is growing so much in the front row with her net play. However, each girl is showing huge improvements in their positions and their confidence, as well as becoming proficient in other positions.

The next tournament for Limitless is Power 4 on March 25.
