This past weekend the newly formed Club Volleyball team, Limitless, played in their first tournament of the season, “The Classic”.

The team started practicing in mid- November. Limitless members range from seventh grade through sophomores, which means the team has to play in the 16’s age division. Sage Lechman, Audree Miller, Alex Schake, Maddy Probst, Cirenda Cordova, Josy Wheatley, Cherish Jansen, and Maya Ramirez make up the team and are coached by Kim Bodemann and Sara Miller. Limitless played six matches in the two-day tournament, “Court time is a huge benefit for the girls, they have come so far from our first practice. I’m so excited to see their skills and what they accomplish by the end of the season in April!” said coach Bodemann.

Most of the teams the girls will play will be made up of freshman and sophomores and will have played together since the age of 12, this will be good for Limitless as it will push them to play at a higher level.

Limitless played No Limits Jade, a team from Englewood in their first match and won the first set 25-22. The next two sets they lost 17-25, 5-15. In their next match against Set Spike Sports from Thornton, the girls won in two sets, 25-17 and 25-20. The final match of the day was against 303 Denver also from Englewood that ended with a loss of 7-25 but then showed a strong comeback by Limitless only to come up just short at 24- 26. The next day, it was a slow start for our team as they fell to Peak Performance out of Bailey, 12-25 and 14-25. With the way the bracket went and how pool play ended on Saturday, the team would face Set Spike Sports for the second time. This match however was lost 15-25, 20- 25. In the final match of the tournament the team played Panther Red from Castle Pines. Some good volleys happened but coming up short 21-25 and 17-25. We learned a lot from our first time playing together and our first tournament. The girls got a taste of the level they need to be at as well as getting a taste of wanting more! We have so much more to learn not only physically but mentally as well, however that is to be expected at this age, commented coach Bodemann. Limitless will play this Sunday, January 21 at the Jeffco Performance Facility in Lakewood in the Power 1 tournament.
