On August 2, 2018, at approximately 9:07 PM Grand County Deputies along
with Grand Lake Fire Department, and Grand County EMS responded to a report
of a suicidal subject, located in a private residence in the area of Garfield Street
and Grand Avenue in Grand Lake. It was reported this party had self-inflicted
wounds. Working with this subject’s family, Deputies were able to establish
phone contact and began negations.
It was found that this subject had barricaded their room, and was unwilling
to come out. After nearly two hours of negations, Deputies were able to make
physical contact with this party and placed them into protective custody, without
further incident. The party was then transferred to Grand County EMS for
treatment.
This is an isolated incident and there is no known threat to public safety.
