GRANBY, Colo.—November 22, 2019—Significant snowfall and rain has been received on the 5-acre Keyser Creek Fire, firefighters have detected no fire activity in the area, and the fire is now considered 95% contained. The fire has been placed in patrol status, which means that firefighters from the Sulphur Ranger District will routinely check on the fire and surrounding area to ensure that it has not rekindled or spread. The Morgan Gulch Trail remains closed for public safety until further notice, as burned snags pose a risk to forest visitors. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
The Keyser Creek Fire, which was reported on the afternoon of Nov. 15, was burning grass, brush, and beetle-killed lodgepole pine forests along Morgan Gulch, a remote area of the Arapaho National Forest nine miles southeast of Parshall.
This will be the last update on the Keyser Creek Fire unless changing conditions warrant.
