3 Lakes Ice Fishing Tournament

The 30th annual 3 Lakes Ice Fishing Contest has come and gone, seeing 991 men, women, and children hit the ice for their shot at fortune and glory, which was only four more entrants than last year.

Approximately $5,500 in drawing prizes were given away. Two local anglers, Mark Murphy and Fred Garrett, caught tagged fish, with sympathies extended to “No Grand Dan,” who managed to catch a tagged fish, but didn’t realize it until the fish was back in the hole.

The Granby Chamber has an overstock of hats from this year’s contest. If you registered for the contest and didn’t receive your complimentary hat, stop by the Granby Chamber and pick one up for free. If you didn’t register for the contest but would like a hat anyway, they can be purchased at the Granby Chamber for $15.

The Granby Chamber sends thanks to all who participated and congratulated all their winners big and small. Listed are the grand prize winners:

Mackinaw: Brian Pauley, 2.49 lbs

Rainbow: Edvardos Marcinkevicius, 3.045 lbs

Brown: Steve Saunders, 2.31 lbs

Grand Slam: Al Macchione, 4.385 total lbs.

Youth Age 5-under: Brady Acker, Mackinaw 1.715 lbs

Youth Age 6-9: Jesse Kohlway, Mackinaw, 1.895 lbs

Youth Age 10-14: Thayden Harms, Mackinaw 2.20 lbs

Youth Age 15-17: Erika Pauley, Mackinaw, 2.505 lbs
